Alcona County

Alcona is located in the northeastern part of the Lower Peninsula, on Lake Huron. It is comprised largely of rural, forests lands and is traversed by US-23. The county contains 679 square miles and is the 30th largest in the state. The county seat is Harrisville. The county's economy depends on agriculture, forestry, and manufacturing. Alcona County offers many opportunities for hunting, fishing, boating, and other recreational activities and boasts both a state and national forest.
