Crawford County

Crawford County is located in the north-central part of the lower peninsula, traversed by I-75 and US-27. The county contains 559 square miles. The county seat is Grayling. Only 1 percent of the county's land is agricultural. Most of the county is in the Au Sable State and Huron National forests. The economy depends largely on the service industry and retail trade. With national and state forests and parklands, recreation activities abound. There are also three public access sites to the Manistee River, which is blessed with spectacular features.
