Lake County offers a scenic route between Grand Rapids and Muskegon. Lake County's history dates back to the logging days. The county was organized in the middle of the last century. Both tourism and forestry are major industries. Lake County is a popular outdoor sporting attraction and draws visitors from major cities including Lansing, Grand Rapids, and Chicago. It offers some of the best trout fishing in the state, with the Little Manistee, Marquette, and Pine Rivers running through its beautiful, forested land.
