Montcalm County

Montcalm County is located in the west-central part of the state, traversed by US-131, M-46, and M-82. The county contains 713 square miles and is the state's 26th largest. The county seat is Stanton. Over half the land is in farms with potato production an important activity. Durable Goods is the major manufacturing activity, with fabricated metal products, transportation equipment, and refrigeration devices the major products. Manistee National Park covers over 530,000 acres, and there are more than 400 lakes in the county. Boating, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities abound.
