Saint Joseph County

St. Joseph County is located in the southern part of the lower peninsula, bordered on the south by Indiana and traversed by US-12 and US-131. The county contains 503 square miles and is the 12th smallest in the state. The county seat is Centreville. Over two-thirds of the land is in farms, almost equally divided between crops and livestock. Manufacturing activities include a wide range of products including condensed and evaporated milk, furniture and fixtures, paper products, plastics, fabricated metals, metalworking machinery, and auto-related products. A wide range of outdoor recreation opportunities are available in the county.
