Export Services

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation has experienced international trade specialists on hand to help Michigan companies gain or expand access to markets in North and South America, as well as Asia.

EXPORTS AND MARKETS

Michigan remained the nation's 5th-ranked state for exports in 2003, with sales to global markets up 4.35% over the previous year. Export growth outpaced that of the top four states and the United States overall. Since 1992, Michigan's exports are up by more than 50%. The state accounts for the largest share of U.S. exports of transportation equipment, with sales abroad of automobiles, trucks and parts in excess of $15.5 billion.

Effective in 2001, U.S. exports are reported in the Harmonized System. The SIC (standard industrial classification) is no longer in use.
