Consultation Education Training
If you are not satisfied with your company's safety performance, here's some good news. The Consultation Education & Training (CET) Division, in conjunction with Occupational Health staff, is ready to help you solve your workplace safety problems. With CET services, you can develop a safety program, improve an existing program or find the help you need to solve tough safety and health problems.
CET consultation and training is provided in your facility at no cost. Services are provided free of charge by a statewide staff of experienced, professional occupational safety consultants who are community based to work with employers/workers in specific geographic areas. Services include:
- A complete training program tailored to eliminate workplace safety and health problems and establish a strong foundation for an effective, ongoing safety and health program. This program includes in-depth analyses of accidents and injuries, assessments of potential hazards, training over several months and annual injury audits for three years following completion of the program.
- On-site one time training programs on workplace safety issues tailored to your business, including: Ergonomics, MIOSHA Safety and Health Standards, Fire Safety, Accident Investigation, Hazard Recognition, etc.
- "Citationless" inspections conducted by CET and Occupational Health specialists to identify potential safety violations. Findings are provided in writing along with abatement methods to eliminate/isolate hazards and a correction plan for hazards classified as serious. This on-site program is initiated with the employer's commitment to abate all hazards.
- A library of over 200 pamphlets, posters, stickers and flyers to help increase safety awareness are available at no cost. Films and videos of more than 340 titles are available for loan.
