Travel Michigan processed nearly 2.4 million inquiries in 2002. This was a 43% increase over the 1.6 million inquires processed in 2001. The primary reason for this increase was the continuing trend of dramatic growth of web site visitors, which increased 53% in 2002. Welcome Center visitation also increased in 2002 to over 8.4 million visitors.
